Key Facts

Danish Energy Efficiency Partners Sdn. Bhd. (DEEP) was formed in 2015 through a cooperation between Danish Energy Management and Danish Climate Investment Fund (KIF). KIF is managed by the Investment Fund for Developing Countries (IFU). The objective of the company is to develop and finance energy efficiency projects in Malaysia.

2018
  • Winning an award in NEA2018

  • DEEP conducted detailed audits for 7 buildings in Bangkok, Thailand

  • Logo and name changes for Danish Energy Management & Esbensen

  • DEEP signed a MOU with FTEC-Green Co., Ltd.

2017
  • Start of phase 2 of the Melaka EPC project.

  • DEEP conducted a preliminary visit to 9 building complexes in Songkhla province, Thailand.

  • DEEP, in cooperation with CLEANTech organisation from Denmark, signed two MOU’s with shopping malls in Manila on energy efficiency works.

2016
  • DEEP successfully completed phase 1 of the Melaka EPC project.

2015
  • DEM mergered with Esbensen to form Danish Management & Esbensen (DEM-Esb)

  • Danish Energy Efficiency Partners (DEEP) Sdn Bhd is established (June 2015)

  • DEEP signed an Energy Performance Contract (EPC) with the state government of Melaka involving a total of 9 buildings on the 23rd June 2015.

2014
  • DEM became a climate partner with the city of Aarhus

  • DEM successfully completed the energy audit works for the state governmentof Melaka.

2013
  • Energy consultancy and framework contract with Aarhus municipality.

  • DEM awarded investment grade energy audit works by the state government of Melaka (Involving 9 state owned buildings)

2012
  • Esbensen became a sister company to DEM

2011
  • DEM established working relationship with Cepat Wawasan Group Berhad through registration of CDM biogas project.

  • DEM established working relationship with Malaysia Newsprint Industries Sdn. Bhd. through registration of large scale CDM biomass energy project.

2008
  • DEM ventured into new business area – Energy Service Companies (ESCO)

2007
  • DEM established working relationship with Sime Darby Berhad through registration of four CDM composting projects.

  • Registration of large scale Biogas CDM project under United Plantations Berhad.

2006
  • First CDM project registered in Malaysia – PGEO Lumut Biomass Power Plant

  • DEM established working relationship with United Plantations Berhad through Jenderata steam and power plant CDM project.

2003
  • Increased international involvement with DANIDA, UNDP and EBRD

  • Code of ethics and business integrity management system

2002
  • EU energy facility projects began

2001
  • DEM became co-owner of an offshore wind farm

2000
  • Support for renewable energy in Malawi

  • DEM expanded presence into Malaysia and Thailand

  • Industrial energy efficiency improvement in Malaysia
